What an interior designer has on their wish list.

Arwen Sachinwalla and Emily Ellis are the lead interior designers at Sydney based architecture and design studio, Studio P.

They work day in and out on mainly residential interior projects meaning their personal wish lists are an ever growing list of tasteful and almost entirely locally designed pieces.

We tasked them with giving us just 3 items each from that list and why they’ve earned their spot.

Otis Floor Lamp, Rachel Donath

We’ll never say no to a good lamp and the atmosphere it creates. Our living room is craving a little extra height and layering, and a floor lamp is the perfect way to achieve it. Slightly obsessed with the glass tortoiseshell shade, it's classy, fun and versatile enough to suit so many interiors.

Soma Oak Long Dresser, Fleur Studios

The art of mixing materials, done perfectly right. A dreamy combination of timber & stone, this new range from Fleur Studios is effortlessly chic. I’ve been on the hunt for a low dresser and this one ticks all the boxes. A timeless piece that would elevate any bedroom, no notes!

Fish Knob/Hook, Maha Alavi Studio

Don't underestimate the little details. We're planning a kitchen reno & this would make a great statement handle or wall hook. A fun simple way to add some character & make a space feel special.

Dune Tan Rug, Olive Cooke x Double

Olive Cooke's collection for Double Studio is absolutely stunning. I don't normally go for a graphic rug but there is something about the pattern and colour combination of Dune that hits all the right notes. I desperately need a new rug for my bedroom and I think I have finally found the one. This rug is perfect for bringing warmth and fun into the room without overpowering the space.

Theo 2.0 Side Table, McMullin and Co

Jumping on the chrome trend here but I have a vision for this piece at the end of my hallway with a beautiful plant or light on top! The organic shape juxtaposes the industrial finish of the chrome so well and I think brings a softness to what is such a solid piece. I love how light bounces off the table creating little reflections, adding a whole new dimension to the piece. Anything that plays with light & reflection is always a fast add to my wish list!

Homey Cutlery - Boysenberry

I love to host so I am always a sucker for cute dinnerware but the new Homey cutlery range really is so much fun! Bringing a pop of colour on to your table through cutlery is so simple but so effective. The sleek design means they are also extremely functional and easy to clean. I really believe the secret to successful hosting is having everything on hand, so if your everyday cutlery is beautiful enough to serve at a dinner party, you are already one step ahead of the game!
